# Working Groups

**Purpose:** In the Token Engineering Commons, many decisions are made via its [ten working groups](https://forum.tecommons.org/c/working-groups/13). These working groups act as [nested enterprises](https://www.universitypressscholarship.com/view/10.7228/manchester/9780719069024.001.0001/upso-9780719069024-chapter-2), localizing decision making to smaller groups and discussions held by subject matter experts in the corresponding groups. 

**Voting Type:** Most decision making happens through dialogue, though groups are open to implementing or proposing votes when consent or consensus cannot be given or reached
